Space Hulk for the digital age: My sensors reveal... Glory!

I'm afraid this isn't so much a post, but rather a re-post. Apologies for the lack of posts of late, I have been painfully ambushed by multiple deadlines that have consumed most of my time (tiny violins please...). I'm thoroughly enjoying writing my thesis on ideas of French-Canadian nationalism, but it was far more fun when I didn't have to do it :P Look out in the next week or so for the continuation of our BFG Campaign, two battle reports complete with shiny maps. I'm only three weeks behind schedule on those (they do take bloody ages - and the dog ate the first draft!)

I spent many an hour playing 1995's Space Hulk: Vengeance of the Blood Angels (never got round to playing the original). The white heat of the suspense is still seared into my mind. Still most memorable, and oft-quoted are the slightly out of sync sound files which meant that various Space Hulk-boarding-Blood Angels announced that their "sensors revealed glory" and other such nonsense.

Late last year it was announced that there would be a new iteration of the beloved board game for the digital age, and I have to say I was rather excited (although I still say someone should have another go at Gorkamorka...)

Today, Rock, Paper Shotgun have had a chat Thomas Hentschel Lund, the studio boss about the forthcoming game. It all looks pretty promising.

There was one particular stand-out line "Thomas Hentschel Lund: And I can also say that, the ink isn’t dry yet, but we’re also in discussion for another turn-based game license..."

Please let it be Warhammer Quest. Pretty please...

Anyhoo, without further ado, here's the full interview

  1. I believe Quest is already in the works, announced by GW.

  2. Hopefully these will be as pretty as Space Marine and more interesting to play than the woeful and terribly dull Dawn of War series.

Sort out your paper on those pretend french folks already. We are feeling neglected!

  5. It looks a bit simplistic from that video I hope its great, they have lots of time to polish.

I'm still massively excited about the Total War team deal with Games Workshop. Please be an updated Dark Omen, I loved that game as a kid.

  6. Thanks everyone for the comments and apologies for the massive delay in replying. How on earth did I miss the Quest stuff. I agree Buffer, it does look a little simplistic, but it does seem to mirror the board game quite closely. And as you say, plenty of time for more polish yet. Shadow of the Horned Rat and Dark Omen were games that I was glued too as a kid.

Getting a bit tired of writing about Quebec now, as much as I have a soft spot for the place....
